“Three women devotees gave birth to babies during the Chhath celebrations. In fact, I was present at the medical camp at the time of first delivery on Thursday. Later, medical staff at the camp informed me about another two more child births in the wee hours of Friday. About 12 medical staff, including nurses and doctors, were deputed at the camp,” Bhojpur civil surgeon Rash Bihari Singh said.
Raj Kumari Pandey, a woman devotee of Ara, said, “One of the themes of traditional Chhath songs is the fervent prayer to the Sun God for a son or a daughter for a childless couple. In this case, the devotees’ prayers have been answered immediately.’’
